He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
Aedh anseia pelos mantos do céu
Tivesse eu dos céus os bordados mantos,
Fiados a doirada e prateada luz,
Os azuis, velados e obscuros mantos
Da noite, da luz e da meia-luz,
Estenderia os mantos no chão a teus pés:
Mas, pobre que sou, só tenho meus sonhos;
Meus sonhos estendi no chão a teus pés,
Pisa leve, pois pisas meus sonhos.
