Matouš Turek
Matouš Turek (*1989, Prague) works as an English teacher, translator and critic and has published translations of poetry, drama and scholarly articles from English to Czech in Souvislosti, PLAV, Divadelní revue, Lidovky.cz and elsewhere. His drama translations are David Greig’s Dunsinane, Roger Mortimer-Smith’s Guilty Secret and Mieko Ouchi’s Blue Light. His poetry translations include works by W. H. Auden, William Blake, Seamus Heaney, Langston Hughes, H. W. Longfellow, Thomas McGrath, Edward Thomas and W. B. Yeats. He currently studies for a Master’s degree in History and English Literature at Charles University in Prague, specializing in late-medieval cultural and literary history.
