David Grosser
David Grosser earned his Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Anglophone Literatures from Charles University in Prague in 2010. In 2013, he completed an MSt in English Language at the University of Oxford, having focused on grammar books, dictionaries and standardisation of English in the eighteenth century. Following his graduation, he worked as an assistant bibliographer for Middle English in the Oxford English Dictionary before joining Winton Capital Management, where he is currently employed. In the course of both his undergraduate and graduate studies, David pursued his interest in translation by attending (and immensely enjoying) specialised seminars and by translating a number of poems ranging from Old English riddles to the poetry of James Merrill. In 2011, he translated several poems by Alan Gillis for the occasion of his public reading in Prague. Some of these translations were later published in the Souvislosti revue.
